Most-Loved Daak in 2022
A look back at 2022 tells us that you like:
Words that give voice to the undefeated, stubborn hope in our hearts
Intimate accounts of our literary heroes and heroines
Art that captures the sublimity and nostalgia of cities we have loved or lived in
Reminders that even at its darkest, life is full of beauty, wisdom and humour
Surprising loved ones with hopeful poetry
Here’s a round up of Daak’s most loved content in 2022. Hope you enjoy revisiting these as much as we did. Here’s to old affections and new adventures - a very happy new year!
Love,
Prachi & Onaiza
I. Highest Newsletters Reads, Shares & Forwards
II. Most Liked Poetry, Photo, Art & Quote
Unsurprisingly, Amrita Pritam’s freedom anthem, Jiddu Krishnamurti’s spiritual guidance, Zohra Sehgal’s cheeky portrait and Hiroshi Yoshida’s sublime resonated the most with you.
III. Most Heartwarming Social Media Campaign
In October (which already feels like a different era), we re-launched the Daak Poetry Exchange on Instagram. After we sent 400 odd DMs, Instagram concluded that we were spamming people and suspended our account. So, we launched the poetry exchange on email. We’ve sent almost 2500 emails so far and have as many more to go!
As always, this is a staggering reminder to us that there is so much love and light in this world, and we are honoured to play a small role in this endeavour.
IV. Most Loved Daak Gifts
It’s been one of our greatest joys to translate the rich cultural heritage of South Asia into meaningful tokens, that have found their way into your homes and hearts.
Our best-loved stationery product this year, unsurprisingly, was the Daak Poetry Calendar, which has daily poetic inspiration.
Our best-loved fragrance too was, predictably, the Itr-e-Gil - the scent for monsoons, petrichor trapped in a bottle.
