You are biased here because naam japna is not a deviance in Hinduism and the very word guru is a Sanskrit word.in Hinduism or Santana dhamra (which is not a religion) the god manifests itself or himself (because god has no gender) in different form and in Dualism(Advaita) we worship idel to give a gratitude to this existence because we are also the part existence but we we go in non duality (Advaita vadanta) we then we go inside and be aware about everything and meditate upon the self until one realise there is no difference between the god and the one individual. guru nanak ji not created any religion his followers collected his teachings and created a religion. Guru nanak dev representing the core philosophy of Advaita vadanta.
"guru nanak ji not created any religion his followers collected his teachings and created a religion."
Guru Nanak dev founded a city in Panjab, (now) Pakistan called Kartarpur on the bank of River Ravi where he introduced and taught his philosophy (irrespective of religion and social class) and his social ideals for the common person- Raaj-Jog, King-yogi. Guru Nanak didn't agree with how the traditions was practiced in Indian subcontinent and their social ideals. This rejection, re-construction and establishment is, by definition, setting up a new system/movement/religion/faith or whatever you like to call it. Guru Nanak faith was not in any system of the time but rather in that One Divine, Naam and nobody else . Same goes for Sikhs only faith in the One and Naam.

I disagree, Truths can be found in all religions but Guru Nanak only represents himself. The thing is *Mystics agree on everything* (almost) - this why it may look like representation of Advaita Vedanta. When the Guru spoke to the Muslims he spoke of Allah, when he spoke to Hindus he spoke of Raam, when spoke to the Buddhists he spoke of Nirvaana. However Sikhs disagree with traditional principles believed by Hindus whatever sacred book they choose to back it up with outlined in this article by Daak. This is why Sikhs dont represent Vedanta because it doesn't represent us. The essence of enlightenment can be found in all traditions and we believe this "essence" is an attribute of Vaheguru (i.e. the True [Sat] - Guru/Yogi/Fakir). Even though we may disagree with others and the fact we do not walk with the same guide in life, we do not believe their way to be false way or one that can not climb the mountain, just not our path that we believe to best.

Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false. Those who do not contemplate them are false.
There are always something new in any holy book, that's why we have 4 different Vedas, Geeta and so many other holy books in other believe systems.
Gyan/knowledge is unlimited and with infinite minds of different level, each of us can interpretate the those books according to our mindset/perception due to our atmosphere around.
Pls read Ang 1402 and 1480 of Guru Granth Sahib G to see how Krishna has been explained only God/Akaal rests all are his different forms.
